Now for many starting a site can be difficult and, gaining popularity especially in the early days, can be arduous due to you having no traffic, little content and the search engines have yet to rank your site. Few sites are willing to exchange links with you as a result of having little traffic and your offer posing little gains to their own site so this leaves many new site owners with few options to developing a prosperous site. The solution for many is submitting their sites to directories. Directories are places where websites are submitted with information such as a title and description. These sites are assessed by an editor and, if deemed suitable for addition, will be listed under one or more subject categories. These directories give sites a chance to develop their inbound links and not only this, but also to have them placed amongst other relevant sites, which generally makes for a fairly relevant inbound link.
